The High Cost of Caring
"Caring is just too expensive, who can afford it?"
She was speaking of the cost of modern medical care.
"Care is too expensive, who can handle it?" He was speaking of the human cost of honest caring.
We need caring. Especially now.
We are anxious, and it is good to know that we can "cast all our cares on Him." It is even better to feel that He is fully able, because He will go as far as necessary to ultimately care for and save His own.
The sacks of cement were heavy. "Not sure I can carry this," he said.
"Here" said the Other. "Let me help."
And He did. He cares and carries and sustains.
True care always exacts a price. Care, real care, is expensive. Whether medical or human, care costs, because its intent is to bring health and abundance to the business of living.
Let's care: being aware of the cost, without overlooking the meaning and blessing that follows.
